And back to Wales again

We leave tomorrow for a return trip to Wales. We will be concentrating on the northern parts this time, but will pick up a few areas in the south that we missed the last time. Our friend, Hillary will be our guide and she knows many of the stories of the land, having lived in north Wales for many years.

    My parents immigrated from Wales with their respective families - my mother in about 1930 and my father in 1922.

    My maternal grandmother was from North Wales and only spoke Welsh until she was about 16-years old. She had to learn English in order to get a job "in service" as a maid/housekeeper for a rich English family somewhere nearer South Wales.
